Tomato Indigo Rose is a unique variety that boasts dark purple skin and flesh rich in anthocyanin, a powerful antioxidant. This tomato was bred by Oregon State University using traditional methods and has a complex flavour with a balanced sweet and tart taste. The fruits are firm and slightly larger than average cherry tomatoes and grow in trusses on vigorous vines. Indigo Rose tomatoes need plenty of sunlight to develop their deep purple colour, which appears on the parts of the fruit that are exposed to direct sun. Harvest them when their colour changes from shiny indigo to darker purple-brown.
