Wasabi 'Green thumb' Pot
Green Thumb is a modern variety often grown in commercial wasabi operations. It’s a good variety if you want to eat the leaves., wasabi produces vapours that stimulate the nasal passages more than the tongue. Generally used as a sauce to accompany sushi or other foods. Use the stem sparingly and finely grated. Grows naturally along stream beds in cool mountain rivers valleys of Japan. requires cool, moist, shaded conditions to thrive. Leave plant to establish for about 18 month - 2 years before harvesting main stems, in the meantime use the leaves and the leaf stems.
