Lactuca Sativa

Loose leaf variety. Green leaves that resemble oak tree leaves. Excellent flavour. Good variety for baby leaves. Grow in moist fertile soil, does well in hot weather compared with some lettuce varieties. We find this a great variety for adaptability and is so easy to grow, every winter and spring we will be weeding self-sown oakleaf lettuce out of driveways, rock wall ...just about anywhere! Pictured is a self-sown specimen in a rock wall.

Approx. 150 seeds per packet

Method: Sow direct or raise seedlings
Sowing Depth: 2mm
When: Year-round, Spring and autumn for best results
Plant Spacing: 30 cm
Position: Part or full sun, moist well drained soil
Weeks till harvest 6 - 7 weeks
Notes Grow lettuce in fertile moist soil, dry poor conditions cause plant to bolt to seed early and leaves will be bitter.
