Long crunchy leaves that start green and fade to purple red. Grow in moist fertile well-drained soil . Encourage fast growth with plenty of water and regular feeds or manure to avoid bitterness.

Method: Sow direct or raise seedlings
Sowing Depth: 2 mm
When: Year-round, Spring and autumn for best results
Plant Spacing: 30 cm
Position: Part or full sun, moist well drained soil
Weeks till harvest 6 - 7 weeks
Notes Grow lettuce in fertile moist soil, dry poor conditions cause plant to bolt to seed early and leaves will be bitter
